Group Exhibition

Adumbratio means an outline, a shadow, the first appearance of form — a state in which something is already present, yet not fully defined. The exhibition brings together four projects that treat form not as a fixed result, but as a temporary condition shaped by light, movement, projection, touch and perception.

MINORIA | SENSE, a video installation by Alicja Maciejko and Mirosław Strzelecki, extends Adumbratio into moving image, time and sensory experience. Maciejko and Strzelecki participate in the exhibition both as artists and co-curators. Their work connects architecture, image, movement and perception, functioning as a curatorial and visual bridge between the individual installations.

In Between, developed by Koło Naukowe ArchiWizja at the University of Zielona Góra, Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning, under the academic supervision of Alicja Maciejko, is built around a modular wooden structure that can be rearranged by the viewer. Its changing configuration is accompanied by an active shadow, so that matter and projection continuously redefine one another. The work exists between object and image, between physical construction and the spatial trace produced by light.

NASCENT, developed by Koło Naukowe PIKSELOZA at the University of Zielona Góra, Institute of Visual Arts, with project supervision by mgr Joanna Fuczko, approaches emergence through projected and animated images, interactive materials and surfaces open to touch. Forms appear, transform, overlap and disappear. Meaning is produced in the interval between image, material, space and the body of the viewer rather than being fixed in any single element.

TEXIS, developed by Koło Naukowe Humanizacja Środowiska Miejskiego at Wrocław University of Science and Technology under the academic supervision of dr inż. arch. Jacek Kotz, begins from a metaphysical approach to matter and space and from texis — the continuous tension between light and shadow. Built through contrasts between light and darkness, matter and its absence, the form invites the viewer not only to experience it but to alter it through touch. Its textured, resilient structure can be temporarily deformed and then returns to its original state, turning perception into an act of participation and transformation.

Together, the four works make instability productive. A moving image can open a sensory field, a shadow can redraw a structure, an image can appear only to dissolve, and a material form can yield to touch without losing its capacity to return. Adumbratio therefore does not describe incompleteness as lack. It names a threshold: the moment in which form is still becoming, and in which the viewer becomes part of that becoming.
