The exhibition of Michał Grześkowiak's works, FREEDOM, World Without Masks, presented as part of the "Carnival Biennale Mask" series at A space gallery, is a unique photographic journey revealing the contrast between the world of illusion and the raw truth of nature. As the artist ventures through remote, untamed landscapes, he seeks to discover the essence of life and inner freedom—a liberation from the masks we impose on

ourselves and the world around us.

Grześkowiak’s photographs showcase monumental, cold landscapes that

aspire to be nothing more than they are. These images are a metaphor for shedding the masks of civilization—nature does not promise wealth,

progress, or entertainment. It is raw, mysterious, beautiful in its simplicity and challenge. Through his journey, the artist reveals a profound truth: in the presence of nature, masks fall away—from both the human face and the world itself. Is the freedom he discovers the act of removing a mask from one’s own eyes? Is it a rejection of noise and excess to uncover the truth about

oneself in the austerity of landscapes? These photographs echo the question: "Who am I in the face of this nature? Can I be simply myself, without pretense, without escaping into artificial roles?"

In contrast to the theme of masquerade, the exhibition poses a question about the nature of a world stripped of illusions. Here, nature, lofty and

proud, lays bare the truth—it pretends to be nothing other than what it is.

This brutal honesty is both terrifying and liberating.

Michał Grześkowiak’s photographs invite reflection on the condition of humanity and the world. Among cold stones, snow-dusted ridges, rugged

plains, and majestic peaks, we encounter more than beauty.

It is an exploration of whether the challenge of wandering—both physical and spiritual—might ultimately lead to liberation.
